We had a great stay here at this house. The location and beach access were the reason we stayed. Enjoyed the sunsets and firepit as well at night. The only thing I would suggest is putting a curtain on the bathroom window for some privacy when using the shower/toilet.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property! Other homes in the area are nicer but priced much (thousands) higher and I felt this home gave us exactly what we needed for a few days stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking items needed to make family meals, there were plenty of dishes for everyone, and plenty of sheets/towels. Washer and dryer in the basement were used and needed! The property also provided little starter lots of travel shampoo, soap, dishwasher tablets, etc. which we appreciated. There were a lot of bugs but the house is in the woods so we expected that. Bring bug spray and lots of it. There's a hose outside to rinse sand off before going in but we had to vacuum every night because there's just no getting around tracking sand inside. The hose off situation really needs a concrete patio to make it easier but what you're getting for the price makes sense. The view was PHENOMENAL. You get your own basically private beach shared with only whoever is renting next door. It was truly a 10/10. Beach chairs and an umbrella were provided. I would stay again for sure! Very cute spot.

Wonderful cottage overlooking Lake Michigan. Metal stairs provide easy access down to the lake. Large back yard for our dogs to have space to play. Clean and comfortable home- all together equals a fabulous vacation for all.

What a perfect place for a relaxing Lake Michigan vacation! The house was clean and had most everything we needed. There are 2 grills, gas & charcoal. Plenty of wood for the fire pit. There are metal stairs to get down to the private beach. Lake Michigan was beautiful. Clean and cool. The only things we needed was food, coffee, drinks, Bic lighter. Ate at The What Not Inn. Visited the Gilmore Car Museum, The Air Zoo, Saugatuck, apple orchards, wineries. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing location, just a short trip to Douglas/ Saugatuck. The beach is easily accessible with a moderately long set of stairs down the dune to the beach which was almost entirely private (stairs are shared with adjacent property). While we were staying there was a good 40 ft of white sandy beach which was perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming. The view from the backyard and top of the dune is immaculate. Home amenities are appropriate and maintained.

This place was perfect for our family vacation. It is the perfect location with beach access for our kiddos to enjoy the beach anytime of day. We were able to walk down to the beach with the stairs located above the bluffs and the beach area was almost private. Not many people so it was nice and secluded. Check in and out was super easy. The house had everything we needed. There is a starter pack of soap, shampoo, etc which was nice. We were able to drive to the grocery store to get more supplies. This was clearly communicated to us in the welcome packet. We will definitely stay here again in the future as it is the perfect beach location!! Just keep in mind there are 75 stairs to get down the beach so it's a good workout.

This was perfect for my wife and my two medium sized dogs. About 3/4 a mile off the interstate, tucked back in the woods right off the beach. The property was quiet and peaceful. We could watch the sunset and storms roll in over the beach from our window. The house was perfect, but we spent most of our time strolling the beach or swimming, and visiting the small towns minutes away. I would book this 100 more times.

The view is top notch. Literally sits on top of a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. There's a big staircase leading to the beach from the bluff which was brand new. It is a bit strenuous to walk up but you can't beat the convenience of a semi-private beach in your backyard. The property is wooded so while neighboring houses are nearby, we still felt secluded and private. The location is also only 6-7 minutes from downtown Saugatuck. The interior decor and furniture is outdated but it was clean and as advertised.

The views from the home and at the beach were beautiful. We appreciated the complimentary kitchen & bathroom kits. The steps to the beach are extremely sturdy and have very secure handrails but the 70 steps down are not accessible for everyone, especially for those not used to a workout.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was spacious and comfy and no complaints on the accommodations. It was definitely disappointing to not have beach access because all the surrounding houses do. And the nearby beaches are nice but the parking fills up quickly so be sure to get there early. We did know ahead of time that the beach access was not working so it wasn't a surprise. But we were still jealous of the nearby homes. Overall we would definitely return to this beautiful location! The fire pit was the highlight and we used it every night. An ideal family spot!

The property sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. It's beautiful. Enjoyed sitting on the bluff and having a bonfire overlooking the lake. The property is close to Douglas and Saugatuck. Really enjoyed the area and all it has to offer. Yes, the house is not modern and could use some updating, but it had all the essentials. We stayed for a week and had our 18+ aged kids come visit with their friends throughout the week. Rooms worked out fine for the group. Property is situated in the woods, so be prepared for your shoes to get dirty/sandy and it to be tracked into the house frequently (always sweeping up the sand in the house). There are several spots within a short bike ride or car ride to get to the beach. I recommend the County Park one. We also went to Oval Beach. Wonderful when it's not busy. During the 4th of July timeframe, we couldn't get in, as parking filled up quickly. We brought bikes but I don't think the area is really condusive to biking. Biking down to beach area there isn't any shoulder. Same with biking into town area. No bike lanes, no shoulder, no trails/paths. Hindsight, we wouldn't have brought our bikes. Overall, great area, nice property and easy working with the property company and check-in/out went well. My only suggestions would be to have a big entry rug to collect dirt/sand at the kitchen door, would be ideal to have a deck or even a table in the backyard to eat outside and enjoy the views of the lake, and upgrade the bath towels. All in, Great!

The home is a little tricky to find but once you figure it out you don't forget it. It's a cozy Lake Michigan cottage settled into the sand and trees with a large spacious back yard to watch the lake. Seriously beautiful sunsets! The home has everything you could need. Plenty of room. Nicely appointed kitchen. Could use a new coffee maker. Comfortable and cozy living room. Lots of windows. There are neighbors on both sides but we hardly noticed them. The driveway is shared with two other homes. I think a fair amount of moisture comes through the windows because the home does have a faint musty smell. There is one queen bedroom that has an attached bathroom and the other two rooms share a hall bath. There's only one tv, it's in the living room. Wifi works great, we were thankful because we have Verizon and had hardly any service where the house is. Every appliance and item in the house is in good working order. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

What a great place to stay! The view is just beautiful and the surroundings are peaceful and relaxing. The home is very comfortable and had everything we might need for a long weekend. If you're looking for some peace and quiet, and an ideal view, this is the spot. Our dogs were very happy with the spacious yard too. This was the perfect spot to hang with multiple generations of family. The bluff was great for morning coffee, afternoon reading, sunsets, and stargazing. Enjoyed badminton, alfresco dinners, and nightly s'mores around the fire pit. Appreciated the selection of games and well-equipped kitchen. Nearby Pier Cove beach was sweet, try the Root Beer Barrel in Douglas and hike the trails through the Dunes.

We enjoyed the property a lot, it was pretty much as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked and the place was very clean. We were only a short drive from the beach. There was no beach access from the property due to a step bluff down to the water, but we felt like we were right on the beach when we sat in the chairs at the end of the yard.

Jaqua is the reality company that services this and other rental properties on behalf of homeowners. Their communication before and during our stay was excellent. The check-in and out processes were simple and convinient. They addressed our concerns in a timely manner. We were especially thankful for the quick delivery of ice salt when weather conditions made the front steps and walk slippery.
The location of this property is its primary appeal. A large wooded backyard leads to a lovely view of the lake. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, but there does not appear to be easy lake access from the property. The street the house is quiet on but with easy access to the highway and the many local attractions.
The property is as dog friendly as advertised. My two dogs thoroughly enjoyed the backyard, and I enjoyed the hardwood floors and washer/dryer access in the basement.
